The impact of COVID-19 infection on thyroid function.

COVID-19 patients frequently develop thyroid function abnormalities, including hypothyroidism and hyperthyroidism. These thyroid disorders may contribute to the persistent symptoms experienced by individuals recovering from coronavirus disease.

- No significant correlation was found between COVID-19 severity and thyroid status.

- These thyroid dysfunctions may offer an explanation for some of the long-term sequelae observed in patients post-COVID-19.
