Developing macular neovascularization (MNV) during intravitreal avacincaptad pegol (IVA) treatment for geographic atrophy (GA) in age-related macular degeneration (AMD) leads to worse outcomes. This occurs despite anti-vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF) therapy, indicating MNV seriousness.
