    Summary

    Delayed CT scanning of the liver after contrast administration significantly increases liver density. This technique, using standard contrast doses, may improve the detection of hepatic lesions.

    Background:

    • Liver lesions can be challenging to detect with standard CT scans.
    • Contrast-enhanced CT is a common diagnostic tool for liver imaging.

    Purpose of the Study:

    • To evaluate the effectiveness of delayed CT scanning in enhancing liver density.
    • To determine if standard contrast material doses can improve hepatic lesion detection.

    Main Methods:

    • Sixty patients received intravenous 60% meglumine diatrizoate contrast material.
    • Patients underwent CT scans before, immediately after, and 4 hours after contrast administration.
    • Three groups received different contrast volumes: 50 ml, 100 ml, or 200 ml.
