Trichogerminoma, a rare hair follicle tumor, often shows GRHL gene rearrangements. This study details a second reported case of malignant trichogerminoma with molecular analysis.
Area of Science:
- Dermatopathology
- Oncology
- Genetics
Background:
- Trichogerminoma (TG) is an exceptionally rare adnexal neoplasm.
- Fewer than 50 cases of TG have been documented globally.
- Recurrent GRHL1/2/3 gene rearrangements were previously identified as the primary oncogenic driver in TG.
