Blood management protocol for baseline anemic patients undergoing hip arthroplasty

A patient blood management (PBM) protocol significantly reduced blood loss and transfusion rates in total hip arthroplasty (THA) patients with preoperative anemia. Optimizing hemoglobin above 12 g/dL is not necessary for these patients.

- The PBM protocol effectively conserved blood, time, and resources, offering a viable blood conservation strategy.
