Comparative Assessment of CMR-Determined Extracellular Volume Metrics in Predicting Adverse Outcomes

Extracellular volume (ECV) and indexed ECV (iECV) measured by cardiovascular magnetic resonance imaging both predict adverse outcomes like heart failure hospitalization and death. However, the simpler ECV measurement is sufficient, as iECV does not add significant prognostic value.

- Despite its complexity, iECV did not demonstrate added prognostic value compared to standard ECV measurements.
