Awareness of HIV pre-exposure prophylaxis (PrEP) is high among young people in Uganda, but uptake remains low, especially for adolescents. Addressing barriers beyond awareness is crucial for increasing PrEP use and preventing HIV infections.

- Barriers other than lack of awareness hinder PrEP uptake.
- Targeted interventions addressing these barriers are essential to reduce HIV incidence in this population, particularly for adolescents.
