Post-operative parathyroid hormone (PTH) levels on day zero reliably predict cure for primary hyperparathyroidism (pHPT) after surgery. A PTH level below 3 pmol/L indicates a successful parathyroidectomy, potentially reducing the need for extensive follow-up monitoring.
