Response to electroconvulsive therapy is not consistently replicated across multiple treatment courses

Previous electroconvulsive therapy (ECT) responses may not predict future outcomes. However, improvements in illness severity and quality of life (QoL) during ECT tend to follow similar patterns across treatment courses.
