Abstract:
Roundworm is a significant public health concern in developing countries, including the Indian subcontinent. The clinical presentation of ascariasis infestation varies in practice. It depends on the primarily involved organ and the secondary migration of adult worms. Biliary tract ascariasis infestation should be considered as one of the differential diagnoses for acute abdomen or obstructive biliary pathology. The outcome depends significantly on the chosen therapeutic strategy. We report a case of recurrent entero-biliary ascariasis managed conservatively. A robust knowledge of pharmacology regarding anthelminthic drugs helped us achieve an excellent outcome in the case.
