Summary
Diagnosing papillary thyroid carcinoma (PTC) metastasis is challenging when it occurs in the same lymph node as small lymphocytic lymphoma (SLL). This rare dual malignancy highlights the need for careful evaluation in patients with co-existing cancers.
Area of Science:
- Oncology
- Pathology
- Endocrinology
Background:
- Co-occurrence of multiple malignancies in a single lymph node is rare.
- Papillary thyroid carcinoma (PTC) metastasis and small lymphocytic lymphoma (SLL) in the same lymph node is exceptionally uncommon.
- Indolent lymphomas can complicate the assessment of metastatic disease.
