Background:

Osteochondroma is a common benign bone tumor, typically found in the long bones.
Craniofacial osteochondromas, particularly in the mandible, are rare and can be misdiagnosed.
This report focuses on a unique case of mandibular osteochondroma.

Observation:

A 34-year-old male presented with cosmetic concerns due to a mandibular growth.
Clinical examination and imaging suggested a bony exostosis.
Histopathological examination confirmed the diagnosis of osteochondroma.

Findings:

The patient underwent surgical excision of the osteochondroma.
Post-operative recovery was uneventful.
No recurrence was observed during follow-up.

Implications:

This case underscores the importance of considering osteochondroma in the differential diagnosis of craniofacial bony lesions.
Further research into the etiology and management of osteochondromas in unusual locations is warranted.
Increased awareness can improve diagnostic accuracy and patient outcomes for rare bone tumors.
