Risk assessment models (RAMs) like Khorana, PROTECHT, and ONKOTEV show poor performance in predicting venous thromboembolism (VTE) for pancreatic cancer patients. New tools are needed for effective thromboprophylaxis decisions in this population.

- There is a critical need for developing and validating novel risk assessment tools to guide thromboprophylaxis strategies in this vulnerable population.
