Preservation of pancreas for transplantation

For preservation of the pancreas, extracellular and intracellular solutions with aprotinin light microscopy showed both solutions to be suitable for a 3-hour preservation, though the intracellular solution appeared more suitable. Preservations for 6 and 24 hours have also been attempted, but these specimens showed fairly severe histological lesions.
