    Background:

    • A medially based, segmental pectoralis major muscle flap was developed.
    • This flap utilizes a single intercostal portion supplied by the internal thoracic artery.
    • Segmental nerve innervation allows for preservation of the remaining muscle.

    Findings:

    • Six cases demonstrated the utility of this function-sparing flap.
    • Five of the six cases achieved successful outcomes.
