[Utilization of a microvascular synthetic prosthesis in microvascular surgery]

Both in replantation surgery and free vascular pedicled tissue transfer a vascular interposition graft is sometimes necessary. As an alternative to the vein a microvascular prosthesis for interposition is introduced. In rats the abdominal aorta was partly resected and the defect bridged by interposition of such a microvascular prosthesis. The technique of interposition and the results are shown.
