Purpose of the Study:

  • To investigate the association between a healthy lifestyle after cancer diagnosis and mortality risk.
  • To analyze the impact of lifestyle on all-cause and cancer-specific mortality in various cancer types.

Main Methods:

  • Utilized UK Biobank data from 2006-2010, including 20,805 cancer patients.
  • Followed participants for mortality outcomes up to November 2022.
  • Employed Cox regression to analyze lifestyle index associations with mortality, adjusting for confounders.

Main Results:

  • A higher lifestyle index correlated with significantly lower all-cause mortality across all cancer types studied.
  • A healthy lifestyle was associated with reduced cancer-specific mortality, particularly for colorectal and prostate cancers.
