    Area of Science:

    • Gastroenterology
    • Oncology
    • Pathology

    Background:

    • Lymphoma, a cancer of the lymphatic system, can rarely involve the esophagus.
    • Understanding esophageal lymphoma is crucial for accurate diagnosis and treatment.

    Observation:

    • Three patients presented with esophageal lymphoma.
    • Two patients had non-Hodgkin's lymphoma, and one had Hodgkin's lymphoma.
    • In all cases, the esophageal involvement was discrete and not directly connected to the stomach.

    Findings:

    • Esophageal lymphoma is an uncommon manifestation of both primary and disseminated disease.
    • Discrete esophageal lesions, separate from gastric involvement, were observed.

    Implications:

    • Highlights the importance of considering esophageal lymphoma in differential diagnoses.
    • Suggests the need for specific diagnostic and management strategies for esophageal lymphoma.
