Case:
Two pediatric patients were treated with rotationplasty for proximal tibia sarcomas. Both patients had an uneventful postoperative course with minimum radiographic and clinical follow-up of 5.7 years. We describe a novel technique to augment osteosynthesis when performing rotationplasty specifically for proximal tibial pathology.
Conclusion:
Imbrication of the fibula within a femoral periosteal sleeve facilitates an additional site of bone healing and mechanical support in rotationplasty for proximal tibial tumors.
