Abstract:
Four undescribed clerodane diterpenoids cleibreciums A-D (1-4) and two undescribed ellagitannins, 2'-methoxybractin (5) and 3″'-hydroxy-5″'-dehydroxy-2'-methoxybractin (6) were isolated from the aqueous-EtOH extract of twigs and leaves of Cleidion brevipetiolatum. Their structures were elucidated by extensive spectroscopic analysis, including NMR and HRESIMS, as well as X-ray crystallographic analysis. Anti-inflammatory assay showed that compounds 2 and 6 exhibited weak inhibitory activity on the nitric oxide (NO) production in the lipopolysaccharide (LPS)-induced RAW 264.7 cells.
