Abstract:
The aim of this study was to observe the effect of topical application of manuka honey in healing of nasal mucosa in Post Endoscopic Sinus Surgery. A total of 50 patients were selected and were operated for sinonasal diseases. Post operative after nasal pack removal manuka honey was applied. Post- operative healing was assessed and scoring was done. The present study was to evaluate and observe faster healing after application of Manuka honey. The median time to achieve clean cavity, mucosal transition and complete epithelialization was 14.0 (14.0-14.0) days. The present study concluded that application of manuka honey promotes faster healing of nasal cavity and lessens chances of postoperative infections.
