Summary

Simultaneous Ulcerative Colitis and Graves' disease is rare but possible. Prompt diagnosis and treatment of Graves' disease led to rapid symptom resolution in a patient with both autoimmune conditions.

  • Both Ulcerative Colitis and Graves' disease were diagnosed concurrently.
  • Treatment focused on Graves' disease resulted in rapid improvement of symptoms for both conditions.

Implications:

  • This case underscores the importance of a comprehensive differential diagnosis when patients present with systemic symptoms.
  • Clinicians should consider the potential coexistence of multiple autoimmune diseases, even when presentations are uncommon.
