Parabrachial Calca neurons influence aversive and appetitive taste function

Chemogenetic inhibition of parabrachial (PB) Calca neurons altered taste responses. Dampening these neurons reduced quinine avoidance but also decreased sucrose preference in males, indicating a role in both bitter and sweet taste perception.
