Summary

Vitreous surgery using perfluoropropane (C3F8) or perfluoroethane (C2F6) successfully reattached retinas in 55.4% of complicated retinal detachment cases. These longer-lasting gases outperformed previous treatments, offering new hope for retinal reattachment.
