New Approaches to Chemotherapeutic Drug Allergy: From Drug Challenge to Desensitization

This review explores the latest clinical advances in the evaluation and management of hypersensitivity reactions (HSRs) to chemotherapeutic agents. There is a critical need for standardized terminology and classification systems, and we discuss improved diagnostic tools and risk-management strategies that enhance the choice of using drug challenge or drug desensitization protocols. In addition, we examine established organizational models that promote patient safety and ensure continuity of care in oncology settings.
