Summary
Vital root resection combined with regenerative retrograde vital pulp therapy (rVPT) offers a less invasive approach to save fractured teeth. This case report shows successful tooth preservation and healing, demonstrating a cost-effective alternative to traditional methods.
Area of Science:
- Endodontics
- Periodontics
- Regenerative Dentistry
Background:
- Vital root resection selectively removes a tooth root to preserve remaining structure and pulp vitality.
- Regenerative retrograde vital pulp therapy (rVPT) combined with vital root resection presents a potentially less invasive and more cost-effective alternative to traditional root resection.
- Periodontal involvement and root fractures in multi-rooted teeth pose significant treatment challenges.
