    Area of Science:

    • Cardiology
    • Nephrology
    • Medical Technology

    Background:

    • Chronic heart failure (CHF) poses significant challenges, especially when resistant to conventional drug therapies.
    • Managing fluid overload in advanced CHF requires innovative treatment strategies.

    Observation:

    • Twenty-five patients with drug-resistant CHF underwent isolated ultrafiltration (IUF) as part of their treatment.
    • A total of 76 IUF sessions were performed across the patient cohort.
    • Clinical, laboratory, and ultrasonographic assessments monitored patient responses.

    Findings:

    • Isolated ultrafiltration demonstrated efficacy in managing patients with chronic heart failure.
    • IUF was successfully integrated into existing therapeutic regimens.
    • The procedure was well-tolerated and contributed positively to patient management.

    Implications:

    • Isolated ultrafiltration should be considered a valuable component of complex therapeutic measures for chronic heart failure.
    • This approach may offer an alternative for patients refractory to standard pharmacological treatments.
    • Further research into IUF's long-term effects and optimal application in CHF is warranted.
