Essential tremor (ET) has been implicated in cognitive dysfunction, yet causality remains unclear. Using Mendelian randomization, we reveal no direct genetic link between ET and dementia subtypes, suggesting shared environmental or neurodegenerative factors. These findings underscore the importance of integrative methodologies to dissect the complex interplay between ET and cognition.
