Introduction:
Clinicians and patients are offered a variety of genomic tests intended to assess the prognosis of cancer. Among these is the "Decipher" test for prostate cancer. A 71-year-old patient with prostate cancer was referred for testing by his treating doctor. The test results suggested reclassification of the patient from the intermediate-risk group for death and disease complications to the high-risk group.
