Biological disease-modifying antirheumatic drugs (bDMARDs) significantly reduced serum uric acid (SUA) levels in psoriatic arthritis (PsA) patients. Interleukin-17 (IL-17) inhibitors showed a particularly notable decrease in SUA levels.

Background:
- Psoriatic arthritis (PsA) is a chronic inflammatory condition.

Purpose of the Study:
- To investigate the effect of various biological disease-modifying antirheumatic drugs (bDMARDs) on SUA levels in patients with PsA.
- To compare the efficacy of different bDMARD classes, specifically IL-17 inhibitors and TNFα inhibitors, in modulating SUA levels.

- Retrospective analysis of 87 PsA patients treated with bDMARDs from January 2007 to June 2021.

- Specific drugs like golimumab, infliximab, secukinumab, and etanercept demonstrated notable SUA level reductions.
Conclusions:
- bDMARDs are effective in managing PsA disease activity.
- A significant reduction in SUA levels was observed, particularly with IL-17 inhibitors.
- Further research is warranted to identify the most potent bDMARD for lowering SUA levels in PsA.
