Researchers engineered hyperbolic shear polaritons (HShPs) in 2D materials for nanoscale light control. By tuning twisted $\alpha$-MoO$_{3}$ bilayers and using graphene gates, they achieved unprecedented dynamic manipulation of these light-matter interactions.
