Comparison of different topical anesthetic methods for intravitreal injections: a randomized crossover study

Adding a proparacaine pledget to topical anesthetic drops did not significantly reduce pain during intravitreal injections (IVI). However, this adjunctive anesthetic may improve pain management for treatment-naïve patients undergoing IVI.
