Do suspended particles matter for wastewater-based epidemiology?

Wastewater-based epidemiology (WBE) can be biased by compounds sticking to particles. This study found most markers are reliable for WBE, but some, like fluoxetine and methadone, require corrections due to significant sorption to suspended particulate matter (SPM).
