Anterior Upper Lateral Versus Anterior-Lateral Electrode Positions for External Cardioversion in Atrial Fibrillation

A new electrode position, anterior upper lateral, significantly improved the success rate of electrical cardioversion for persistent atrial fibrillation (AF) compared to standard anterior-lateral placement. This improved efficacy did not compromise patient safety.
