Cancer surgery of the skull base

Squamous-cell carcinomas are the most common type of malignant tumors arising in the region of the tonsils and palatine arch. This article describes surgical resection of such tumors with extension to the nasopharynx. The author's experience with over 40 patients confirms the safety of the procedure.
