Summary

The lymphocyte-to-C-reactive protein ratio (LCR) can predict outcomes for patients with locally advanced non-small cell lung cancer (LA-NSCLC) after chemoradiotherapy. A high LCR indicates a better prognosis and longer survival for these patients.

Background:

  • The lymphocyte-to-C-reactive protein ratio (LCR) is an inflammation-based marker with prognostic potential in malignant tumors.
  • Assessing the prognostic value of LCR in unresectable locally advanced non-small cell lung cancer (LA-NSCLC) post-chemoradiotherapy is crucial.

Purpose of the Study:

  • To evaluate the ability of the LCR to predict prognosis in patients with unresectable LA-NSCLC after chemoradiotherapy.
  • To determine if LCR is an independent prognostic factor for overall survival (OS) and disease-free survival (DFS).

Main Methods:

  • Retrospective analysis of 206 patients with unresectable LA-NSCLC treated with chemoradiotherapy.
  • Calculation of LCR using absolute lymphocyte count and C-reactive protein levels.
