Multitarget stool DNA (MT-sDNA) tests detected colorectal cancer (CRC) at a lower rate than expected. Most positive MT-sDNA results in this primary care screening cohort were false positives, questioning test effectiveness for average-risk individuals.

- Findings suggest a need to re-evaluate the effectiveness of MT-sDNA screening in average-risk populations.
