Practice Norms in Primary Hip and Knee Arthroplasty: What Is Everyone Else Doing?

For the last 15 years, biennial polls of the American Association of Hip and Knee Surgeons (AAHKS) membership have been conducted at the AAHKS Annual Meeting by the senior author. This manuscript summarizes audience responses to 51 multiple-choice questions pertaining to perioperative and intraoperative practice patterns in primary total hip and knee arthroplasty. Results from the 2024 poll were collated and compared to results from polls in 2022, 2020, 2018, and 2009 to identify changes and evolutions in the practice of AAHKS members at large.
