Factors Predicting CT Pulmonary Angiography Results in the Emergency Department

Pulmonary embolism (PE) is a concern in emergency patients. Identifying factors associated with PE on CT pulmonary angiography (CTPA) can help reduce unnecessary scans, especially when other lung conditions are present.

- Higher D-dimer thresholds in specific conditions (CHF, COPD, pneumonia) can improve CTPA specificity without compromising sensitivity.
