Relationship Between Lower-Extremity Co-Contraction and Jerk During Gait

Elderly gait shows increased co-contraction (CC) linked to reduced smoothness. This study found that lower-leg jerk significantly correlates with lower-extremity CC, particularly in the vastus lateralis and gastrocnemius lateralis muscles.
