Allostatic Load and Metabolic Syndrome in Depressed Patients: A Cross-Sectional Analysis

This study found that higher levels of stress mediators like cortisol and epinephrine are linked to metabolic syndrome in major depressive disorder patients. Lower levels of these stress hormones were associated with metabolic syndrome in this patient group.
