Abstract:
Wearable electronics, particularly for virtual and augmented reality (VR/AR), require flexible films with sensing, motion detection, and electromagnetic interference (EMI) shielding capabilities. However, current films often exhibit unsatisfactory stretchability and integration of multifunctionality. Herein, we present a multilayer flexible electronic film that addresses these challenges by combining a conductive silver nanowire network for EMI shielding, a graphene-based sensing layer for motion detection, and a liquid-metal-infused layer for shape deformation and adjustable stiffness. The film demonstrates exceptional stretchability (∼314%) and outstanding EMI shielding effectiveness (68675 dB/mm), along with remarkable sensitivity for motion detection, achieving a gauge factor of 715. These performance metrics position the film as a leading stretchable material, achieving an exceptional balance between adjustable EMI shielding, strain-sensing capabilities, and stretchability. These advancements enable reliable human motion detection, customizable EMI shielding, and durable, adaptable deformation, offering substantial potential for VR/AR devices and other flexible electronic applications.
