Background And Objective:
Soft tissue augmentation in dermatologic surgery has evolved significantly, driven by the growing demand and popularity of noninvasive cosmetic procedures. This article examines the unique product characteristics, as well as their respective histories, used to guide selection for safe targeted volumization and optimized patient outcomes.
Materials And Methods:
The range of agents used for noninvasive soft tissue augmentation were reviewed in the peer-reviewed literature, with an emphasis on the on-label and off-label use of those approved by the United States FDA.
Results:
