    Summary

    Dioxane (1,4-diethylene dioxide) showed no major teratogenic effects in Sprague-Dawley rats. Embryotoxicity, indicated by reduced fetal weight, was only seen at the highest exposure dose.

    Background:

    Purpose of the Study:

    • To evaluate the teratogenic potential of dioxane in Sprague-Dawley rats.
    • To determine dose-dependent effects on fetal development and maternal health.

    Main Methods:

    • Sprague-Dawley rats were administered dioxane via gavage on days 6-15 of gestation.
    • Dose levels included 0, 0.25, 0.5, and 1.0 ml/kg/day.
