Background:
Tricuspid regurgitation caused by tricuspid valve prolapse, especially Barlow-type prolapse, is a rare and underreported condition. Recent advancements in tricuspid transcatheter edge-to-edge repair (TEER) have provided new treatment options for patients who are poor candidates for surgery, yet the use of tricuspid TEER in treating Barlow-type tricuspid valve prolapse is not well documented.
Case Summary:
This case report presents a patient treated with the novel DragonFly-T transcatheter tricuspid valve clip system for Barlow-type tricuspid valve prolapse. Postoperatively, the patient's symptoms improved, and the reduction in regurgitation remained stable.
Discussion:
The case provides valuable insight into expanding the applications of tricuspid TEER for challenging tricuspid valve pathologies.
