Aggressive Juvenile Trabecular Ossifying Fibroma of the Mandible in a Child

Abstract:
Juvenile trabecular ossifying fibroma (JTOF) is a rare, aggressive neoplasm primarily affecting children. The purpose of this case report is to describe an extensive mandibular JTOF in a 10-year-old girl who presented with facial pain and swelling. Radiographic imaging revealed a large, well-defined radiolucency with cortical perforation. Histo- pathological examination confirmed JTOF, characterized by cellular fibroblastic tissue and woven bone trabeculae. Due to the aggressive nature of the fibroma, the patient underwent a right hemimandibulectomy. This report highlights the critical need for early diagnosis, accurate histopathological assessment and long-term follow-up to man- age JTOF effectively and prevent severe facial deformities.
