Intramural Ectopic Pregnancy Diagnosed by Transvaginal Three-Dimensional Ultrasound: A Case Report and Literature

Abstract:
We present a case of Intramural ectopic pregnancy (IMP) after frozen-thawed embryo transfer (FET) characterized by the absence of any clinical symptoms. A 35-year-old female patient had no clinical symptoms and no history of uterine instrumentation. On day 28 after FET, her serum beta-human chorionic gonadotropin (β-HCG) level was 18 936 IU/L, and the diagnosis of IMP was made by transvaginal three-dimensional (3D) ultrasound. A total of 14 cases of IMP were then reviewed, including this report. This case and a literature review highlight the challenges of diagnosing IMP.
