Abstract:
Graves disease has been associated with hematological abnormalities including anemia, thrombocytopenia, or leukopenia. Pancytopenia is a rare complication that is not often encountered. Here, we present a case of a 54-year-old woman diagnosed with Graves disease who was treated with radioiodine ablation in the setting of neutropenia. Two weeks later the patient developed pancytopenia thought to be autoimmune secondary to Graves disease. Prednisone was initiated with improvement of her pancytopenia.

Gastritis-II: Pathophysiology
In acute gastritis, the gastric mucosa becomes swollen and red and undergoes superficial erosion. Superficial ulceration may lead to bleeding.
In chronic gastritis, persistent or repeated insults lead to chronic inflammatory changes and, eventually, thinning or atrophy of the gastric tissue.
Gastritis can stem from various causes, each...

These antibodies interfere with the function of the nicotinic receptors in three ways: by binding to the receptor and disrupting acetylcholine binding; by causing cross-linking of receptors which...
Disorders of Leukocytes
Leukopenia may result from bone marrow disorders, autoimmune diseases, and infectious diseases. For example, conditions such as multiple myeloma and aplastic anemia can impair the bone marrow's ability to produce adequate leukocytes. Similarly, autoimmune diseases like lupus and viral infections such as HIV can prompt the immune...
