[A psychoanalytic thought collective in the psychiatric setting and its impact on subjectivity]

Psychiatry and psychoanalysis are distinct areas of knowledge that constitute the field of mental health. Despite the scientific interface, historical tensions have always existed between them. Ludwik Fleck's concept of a "thought collective" and "style of thought" served as a theoretical framework for qualitative research, the objective being to understand the circumstances, motivations and meanings of the presence of psychoanalytic references within contemporary psychiatry. The research was conducted via semi-structured interviews with 47 professionals from an in-depth psychoanalytic course at IPq-HC/FMUSP. Bardin's Content Analysis Methodology was used for data analysis. The significant fragments were identified, coded and organized into 5 thematic categories using ATLAS.ti software. This article presents the four ways in which the presence of a psychoanalytic thought collective impacts contemporary psychiatry with respect to the consideration of subjectivity: encouragement of broad, non-reductionist clinical listening; appreciation of the professional's subjective experience as a formative factor; perception of the limits of modern medical rationality; action as a critical aspect in the field of mental health.
