Abstract:
A 71-year old woman was admitted on the Intensive Care Unit after repair of an ruptured abdominal aortic aneurysm. Afterwards she developed a compartment syndrome of the lower left leg with cotton wool-like patches on the fasciotomy wound. We suspected a fungal infection. A fungal culture revealed mucormycosis.
